BELLA NOTTE

ladytrampspaghettiYesterday I was sick and I decided to watch Walt Disney’s Beloved Classic  LADY AND THE TRAMP.

(I have a thing for old classic films when l´m sick)

Also ever since (yesterday illness) I have been craving for spaghetti and meatballs

This is our dinner Recipe

Tomato sauce
1/4 cup  olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 cup  white wine (dry)
400g can chopped tomatoes
400g long gluten-free pasta
1 teaspoon dried leaf oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried leaf basil
Flaked parmesan, to serve

Meatballs
500g minced beef (You can also use minced pork or chicken)
2 cloves garlic, crushed
50g parmesan, finely grated
1 egg, lightly beaten

If its needed then add 1-2 tabs of flour or oatmeal flakes (gluten-free of course).

For meatballs, place all ingredients in a bowl and season to taste with salt and pepper. Mix well to combine. Form tablespoonfuls of mixture into balls. Dip the spoon in a glass of cold water if the meat mix gets sticky.

Heat oil in a large frying pan or saucepan over high heat. Add meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are well browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
Add onion to pan and cook, stirring, over medium heat for 5 minutes or until tender. Add the leaf oregano and basil, then add wine and simmer until reduced by 1/2. Return meatballs to pan with tomatoes and bring to the boil. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until sauce is thickened.

Meanwhile, cook the gluten-free pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and return to pan. Add meatballs and sauce and toss to combine, then serve scattered with flaked parmesan and a sprinkle of oregano and basil as a garnish.

Bella Notte e buon fine settimana!
