Happy Halloween Pumpkin soup

Happy Halloween-4

Our Halloween dinner is cooking right now and it’s a scary and warming Pumpkin soup.

Recipe:

Frying or roasting the vegetables brings out their natural sweetness, plus adds a depth of flavour.

Ingredients:
1 chopped onion
1 clove of garlic
1 little red chili
4 chopped carrots, I leave the peel on
1 parsnip, peeled, coarsely chopped
600g pumpkin (butternut pumpkin), peeled, deseeded, cut into cubes

A little oil or Coconut oil
1 cup of milk
 0,5 l of vegetable stock

Fry everything in a pan until vegetables are tender and golden, then add some of the stock and boil a little. Then mix it in a blender and blend well (remember to open the top of your blender because of the steam).
Pull the blended soup back into your pan and boil it up, add stock and milk until you have the thickness you desire.
Taste with salt and pepper.
Garnish with fresh-grated Parmasan cheese and serve.

Happy Halloween

IMG_9295 IMG_9299IMG_9294IMG_9291IMG_9289IMG_9293Me and J just had five days of family-love and it was love with a big capital L.

J and I are leaving Europe over Christmas and New Years, therefore it was fantastic to see my two beautiful (mommy and aunty). They came over for a little Autumn/Pre-Christmas visit.

We did so many nice things together. We went for a little girl-time shopping, walking around all the old streets of Barcelona, we went to museums and we saw some of the old historic cathedrals, we went to the markets, we watched the sun go down at Maremagnum, we had a lot of tasty Starbucks coffees and chai teas, we enjoyed good dinners and lunches at different restaurants and cafe’s and ups I almost forgot, we also watched FC Barcelona’s merciless victory over Real Madrid last Saturday. Goooooooooooooool de BARÇA!!

Right now our whole living room smells of my favorite flowers….. Lilies and white Hyacinths. My lovely beautiful mom and Auntie had bought them as a gift for me just before they left to go home as a surprise. Mmmm….. and while I’m writing this blog post and I can’t get this smile off my face while I’m sitting on the sofa, OMG I have so many great memories from there visit.

One thing I’ve learnt after moving to another country, is that when you have a visitor from back home (Denmark), then it’s something quite special.

I love it when my family comes to visit me and J (which they fortunately are very good at doing). Their visits gives me a warmth in my heart, a warm feeling which is in my heart and mind for a very long time even after they traveled back to Denmark again. It is a positive and loving warm energy and it’s refreshing and it gives me a warm boost….. Oh how I miss my loving family!

Enough of me gabbing on out of my sentimental mind.. bla bla bla..

I will have to split this blog post in two parts, because I have way to many nice photos from the past five days that I want to show off to you guys 😉 Therefore this post will be continued in part 2.

P.S.  J is spoiling me today because I miss my mom, my aunty and the rest of the family and friends in Denmark. Therefore, he is cooking and I can actually start to smell something delicious in the oven. I wonder what it is?????

Smells yummy!

A rainy day

Rainy day

Today it rains a little, so I think autumn is about to announce it´s arrival in Barcelona, it ´s about time!!!!

Today my mom, my aunty, J and I are all going to Sitges. We are going to Sitges to see the fine little city and then to enjoy a a nice paella lunch overlooking the beach and the beautiful ocean on the seaside of Sitges.

I would like to wear tihis outfit above, jeans, a cute sweater, rainboots and a  pink umbrella 🙂

I love Autumn Barcelona

IMG_9145IMG_9150IMG_9152These photos are from last weekend and as you can see we were at a lovely Autumn market at Plaza de la Sagrada Familia.

The whole plaza was filled with small stalls selling all kinds of nuts, dried fruits, tea, tapenades, sausages, olives, fruit, cheese, homemade beer and everything your heart could desire.

We had a look around the market and then we decided to have a vermouth with spanish tapas in the sun with some friends, Ahhhh!

Right while I’m typing at this moment…… my mommy and my aunty are at The Museu Picasso, looking at some of the most extensive collections of artworks by the 20th-century Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.

When they finish there cultural tour I will meet up with them at the Estació de França the old major railway station in Barcelona, then we are going to enjoy a afternoon coffee in the sun. Then the plan is to go and see the harbour and the old part of Barcelona, El Borne. Tonight all four of us are heading out to eat delicious sushi in Gracia, Yum!

¡Adios amigos!

Marble is everywhere right now… in fashion, furnitures, candlesticks, dishes plates, cups, wallpapers and fabrics, etc.

I used to think marble as kind of 80-ish, but not anymore. Now I would love to have a bathroom with a little touch of marble.

I think a mix of marble, silver and shiny white or black brightens up in a bathroom and gives the bathroom a little classic and stylish look.

In a few hours it´s weekend-time and tonight we get a very important visit from Denmark. A visit that I have been looking forward to for a long long time.

The V.I.P. visitors are my lovely fantastic mummy and my awesome aunty ♥

Four days of mini vacation, wup wup, wonderful!

Have a great weeekend 🙂
