I need to fix up my balcony.. I want my balcony to look inviting and I want it to say: “Hey you.. come outside and enjoy a cold glass of white wine in the sun surrounded by flowers”!!

My inspiration for this project is colorful summer flowers, sun and joy, therefore I´m off to the Mercat de la Concepció (calles de Aragón con Valencia) to buy some flowers.

Buen Sábado!

EXPECTING A FINE VISIT

Sine & MoniqueThe photo shows my little sister and her old cute jumping horse named Monique.

We are expecting a fine V.I.P. visit this up coming Sunday to Thursday from my beautiful little sister and her famous head chef boyfriend.

James and I have already been planning for the four of us to go and try the best Spanish and local cuisines in Barcelona. We are definitely going to have alot of cold fresh drinks in the sun and at the beach. At night we will head for the rooftop hotel terraces around for a nice cold mojito.

And last but not least me and my sister are going visit the shops to do some serious shopping. Their visit is perfect timing because the very famous & cheap summer sale (Rebajas de Verano) starts in Barcelona this Monday on 1st July.

We are going to have the best time and I can´t wait!!

Have a wonderfull weekend 😉

BALENCIAGA FIRST

Balenciaga First

My new summer bag from Balenciaga.

I´ve always wanted a creme-coloured or a white summer handbag and Balenciaga First is the perfect model for me this summer.

I bought the handbag in a vintage shop called Le Swing. Le Swing is located in Carrer del Rec, 16 in el barrio la Ribera-Born, Barcelona. They also have a online shop where you can look at other modelos. www.leswingvintage.com

I like this shop a lot and highly recommend it…..

In Le Swing they have a variety of items such as sunglasses, bags, shoes, dresses and some of the brands that got my attention were Prada, Céline, Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

After visiting Le Swing shop I´m now dreaming of buying the vintage Louis Vuitton suitcase and a little red Chanel 2.55 bag. Let´s just hope : )

RECYCLE YOUR OLD WINDOWS

Recycle your old windowsRecycle your old windowsRecycle your old windows-1-original-620-500Recycle your old windowsRecycle your old windowsRecycle your old windowsI love recycling and I love to have alot of light in my house.

This post will give you ideas on how to recycle your old windows. You can create new space or a new room in the house by using your old windows as a window wall or you can also create a walk-in wardrobe or a piece of furniture. At the same time you will be able to achieve alot of light in your house and as a bonus you help take care of the environment by recycling.

During my research I also found this amazing (Danish) website for recycling old materials. www.genbyg.dk

CEVICHE

Cerviche 2

This was the first time I saw my bf. James make his traditional family ceviche, and I was amazed. I could actually see the lemon and lime juice turning the color of the fish from translucent pink to opaque white. The acid from the limes and lemons  are “cooking” the fish without using heat.

Ingredients

4-500 gram of little pieces of octopus

4-500 grams of fresh or precooked prawns

Also you can add fresh red snapper fillets (or other firm-fleshed fish), cut into 1/2 inch pieces, completely debone

1 /2 cup of fresh squeezed lime or orange juice

1 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice

2 red onion, finely diced

1 cup of chopped fresh tomatoes (without seeds)

1 red chili finely diced

2 teaspoons of salt

1 teaspoon of organic low sugar ketchup

A lot of Cilantro (washed and cut into little pieces)

Serve with banana chips or white rice

If you want your ceviche more spicy then add a dash of Tabasco or a light pinch of cayenne pepper

Method

In a non-reactive casserole dish, either Pyrex or ceramic, place the seafood, onion, tomatoes, chili, salt, ketchup. Cover with lime/orange and lemon juice. Let sit covered in the refrigerator for an hour, then stir, making sure more of the seafood gets exposed to the acidic lime/orange and lemon juices. Then add the cilantro, boil the rice and serve.

I would like to change the name of ceviche to 100% South American health. James also told me that this dish is the best cure for hangovers, and I believe him!
