…Thank’s to my Mr. love J, thanks to my family and my friends for the year 2013. It has been an amazing year… Full of so many good things…. I love this video clip from Sex in the City. I think it shows the true New Year mood and the clip full of love !!!!

The time is 18.00/h.  31.12.2013 (Sydney), I am dressed up beyond recognition (at least I think so). Tonight I am wearing a one shoulder little black dress and I am wearing heels (I am normally a girl in flat shoes) and now we are off to our New Years party at O Bar and Dining …

Happy New Year !!!!!!!!!! 🙂

New Years Eve at O Bar and Dining, Sydney

New Year 2014 2 New Years 2014 1This morning J was wearing the Big Spender pants, which means that we are going to celebrate New Years Eve 2013/2014 with one of the best views in Sydney.

We are going to enjoy a six course meal at O Bar and Dining owned by one of Australia’s most famous chef Michael Moore.

I’m not going to say much more yet about this fantastic (hopefully) evening that we are going to spend at O Bar and Dining, I just have to show you the menu, I think the menu sounds beyond fantastic.

Six course menu:

Cocktail on arrival

– Lemongrass tomato consommé, scallop, kaffia lime leaf

– Lemon whipped ricotta, peas, pea shoots, heirloom baby beets, verjuice jelly, romesco, popped wild seeds

– Quinoa chilli crusted king prawns avocado, fennel, orange

– Warm salad of smoked quail, buckwheat, baked grapes, preserved lemon, herb aioli

– Grilled black angus beef fillet heirloom carrot, king brown mushrooms, chimichurri, young leek

– Chocolate hazelnut and salted caramel delice, banana ice cream

I can’t look at any more food photos or read more food reviews now… my teeth are already running in water like The Victoria Falls!!!

I promise that I will take lots of photos and that I will post them on Myhomeinthecity (ASAP), when I’ll see you in the New Year 2014 🙂

Rice paper rolls with coriander veggie balls – New Year’s menu appetizer ?

foto 2(4)

An idea for for a New Year’s menu appetizer could be these
Coriander veggie balls served with rice paper rolls.

Recipe:
Coriander veggie balls.
for 4 pers.

2 grated potatoes with peel
1 grated carrot with peel
0.5 chopped red onion
2 cm. of a peeled and chopped ginger
4 dl. of fresh chopped cilantro
1 egg
1 tbsp. of rice flour
salt and pepper

Mix all the ingredients above and form it into balls and fry them on a frying pan.

Tip: I used two tablespoons dipped in cold water to form the veggie balls.

This video below shows you how to roll the rice paper rolls, its so easy!
First wet the rice paper in a shallow dish until it’s softens up then place into onto a cutting board. Fill the ingredients you love and roll your rice paper roll like this video indicates.

You can use every kind of fresh veggies accompanied with seafood, meat or tofu, etc. or in general anything that you think is New Year’s menu inspired.

祝您好胃口  (bon appétit) & soon Happy New Year:)

I have a little prayer: Dear God, please let the last few weeks of me and J’s holiday go a bit more slow, the time flies too fast 🙂

Aussie Christmas

25 Dec

Merry Christmas.

I had an amazing Christmas Eve the 24th of December with J’s sweet family.

The weather wasn’t burning hot, lucky for me, I think we had around 26 degrees and a fresh breeze and the Christmas sky was clear and beautiful.

Our Christmas dinner was good and delicious, it was fried rice, prawn curry, wontons and “non-tons” (which is the gluten free version of wontons) for me, pork roast and lot’s of cold drinks and sweets.

After the dinner everybody was enjoying each others company, trying to survive the very full stomachs, some where dancing (J’s dad and uncle, so cute), the kids and J and his brother played football on the terrace outside, Oh hohoho I had a wonderful and joyful Christmas Eve (although a bit different from the Danish Christmas that I’m used too).

When do you normally give the Christmas presents? I think it’s up to each family to decide where and when. Yesterday the little cute kids had opened up there presents on the 24th before the dinner, because those little angels couldn’t wait until the 25th of december. In J’s family it’s normal to give the presents the 25th in the morning while people still are in their PJ’s. Therefore all of us adults got our presents this morning (25th) I didn’t expect to receive any presents, so I got a good surprise when I got this wonderful Guerlain perfume, sandals from a Melbourne brand called Nude and a cool Aussie Cookbook and plus the adventures that we got from J’s brother (Tall Ship sailing & Horse riding). In Denmark my family as Danish tradition give the presents after dinner and after dancing around the Christmas tree on the 24th of December.

Have a great and Merry Christmas everyone !

P.S. I forgot to mention that J’s family has a tradition that everybody should wear a Santa hat or something like that……. Therefore we should also wear the Santa hats for our Christmas lunch today. For our Christmas lunch we had a Seafood Paella and Homemade Gluten free almond and lemon muffins, yummm.

P.P.S. I will keep my Santa hat on the whole day, I like it 🙂
