rene bcn

J and I celebrated our Valentines Day dinner this year, at Restaurante Reñé Barcelona♥ I know this post is a little behind as regards of Valentine’s day etc, and that we today have the 11th April. But this restaurant is worth a visit, Valentine or no Valentine.

The food at Reñé was amazing and exquisite and everything was in a high quality. The service was very good. The staff was helpful with food suggestions that complemented each other and what I could chose between of gluten free choises.

Restaurante Reñé is not in the main way for tourists but if you are looking for an authentic and excellent tapas this is a place to go!

Reñé is a very popular restaurant therefore it is a good idea to book a table.

Are you going to Barcelona in the spring??? Meet Little Vietnam in Barcelona at LaVietnamita

Are you going to Barcelona in the spring??? If you can answer yes to this, then do not miss out for a lunch or dinner at La Vietnamita.

La Vietnamita is a Vietnamese street food deli in Barcelona, there is a restaurant in Gracia and one in El Borne. It is one of my and J´s favourite lunch restaurants in Barcelona. They are also open at night but we prefer LaVietnamita for lunch during the day 🙂

The photos below are taken from the restaurant in Gracia and in the El Borne.

La Vietnamita is as the name says a Vietnamese street food deli and they serve very tasty and fresh healthy food made from local fresh products. They serve Vietnamese food, soups, salads, noodles, homemade lemonades, etc.<

They have a moto that I simply love, the moto is: Eat the food you mind and mind the food you eat.

Price: Cheap to medium

Good afternoon.
How was your weekend? We had a visit from a very sweet young couple from Copenhagen – Denmark, so my weekend was just perfect, more of that please:)
A few weeks ago J and I had a spicy and tasty Indian dinner at Rani Hindu en Barcelona.

If you like Indian food, then do not miss out on visiting Restaurante Rani Hindu in Carrer Bailen Barcelona.

Rani is a very authentic Indian restaurant with round tables, red table cloths, long heavy curtains and happy Indian music bursting from the speakers.

The waiters were very helpful and they speak fine english, so if your spanish is like mine or even worse, then it’s no problem for ordering.

Rani is the holder of a Michellin Star (some years ago) and the food was amazingly good, and very tasteful. Mine and J’s dish was like traveling to a world of colours and spices.

They serve the food as mild, medium and spicy. Be aware of the level. I got a medium spicy lamb and spinach dish, and let´s just that I started to feel the chili in my mouth so I ordered a fresh yoghurt and mango shake to cool it down, yummmmm!

Do not expect a fine brand new looking restaurant, but expect an authentic Indian restaurant with food with a wow factor – Our food Was Just Wow!!!

Happy Thanksgiving (28th November 2013)

FLAHERTYSYesterday I had a very happy Thanksgiving at Flaherty´s Irish Pub Barcelona.

Yummm….. The Thanksgiving menu was delicious and Flaherty’s was full of happy Americans, I would guess that every American living in Barcelona was there. It had a nice feeling and great vibe.

Flaherty’s did an amazing tasty Thanksgiving menu for 12,50/euro per person.

The starter was a spicy pumpkin/potato soup.

Main dish was a traditional Thanksgiving roast turkey with home style stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes, candied yams, broccoli, braised carrots, brown gravy and lot´s of cranberry sauce.

For dessert we had apple pie served with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Yumm!

Included in the menu was a bottle of red Rioja Crianza wine.

We went to Flaherty’s after doing a little shopping in town so we didn´t get the time to book a table, but luckily for us they somehow created us a nice little romantic spot at the bar with a candle and they did a gluten free menu especially for me, 🙂

Now that’s what I call a surplus and flexible staff and great service.

P.S. They told us that they do a Sunday Roast every Sunday, so if you are in Barcelona and feel like a nice roast on a Sunday, then this is the place to go.

P.P.S. Flaherty’s is also a good place to arrange your Christmas dinner or celebrate New Years. I noticed that they also have plenty of drink specials. I will definitely go back with Mr. J. ♥♥♥♥♥

Have a fantastic Friday night 🙂
