Tossa de Mar Part 1

Tossa del mar 1tossa 2

UntitledOMG. I miss Tossa de Mar!!
I wish I could start my holiday again and never ever have to work 😉

Our mini holiday in Tossa de Mar started with a cold caña (beer on tap) for J and a cold fresh clara (beer on tap with lemonade) for me and a little pica-pica olives.

After our welcome refreshments we headed off to the beach for lunch and had a paella cooked in squid ink. After our lunch we did some relaxing sun bathing and a little swimming between the beautiful rocks in the water. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I don’t like to swim where the water has black shadows from the rocks below, so i just swam in the middle. Hehe I know it’s silly!

All the photos are taken from our first day at the beach, La Mar Menuda (Tossa has 3 beaches). I think this beach with it’s clear blue water and all the rocks speaks for itself. I’ve never seen such beautiful fresh, clean blue sea.

After the beach we headed for the famous mountain situated on the promontory known as the “Cap de Tossa”, the walls of the “Vila Vella” have been declared as a National Historic-Artistic Monument and they are today the unique example of a medieval fortified village on the Catalan coast still standing.

The original leftovers from the old village, with dry-stone battlemented ramparts, four big towers and three round ones finished off with machicolations at the top, have been preserved till our days.

We saw one or two nice bars with lights and music on the way to the top and once we reached the top we came across an expensive looking restaurant and the famous Tossa de Mar Lighthouse.

From the top of the mountain I have only one comment….. “BEAUTIFUL and OMG what a view over the Mediterranean Sea and what a view over the city of Tossa de Mar”!

We ended our first day/night with a dinner at the plaza in front of the Parish church.

Now it’s bedtime for me, Zzzzz
Good night and sweet dreams ♥
